I just used this bag for a work trip to Japan and it was great for what I needed!
Pros:
- For long flights, I prefer a tote bag as a personal item for under the seat (I find that backpacks usually take up too much leg room to stretch out, while small crossbody or sling bags tend to slide around too much). This tote checks all the boxes I was looking for: it stands up on its own and doesn’t flop over, zips shut to keep contents secure, comfortably holds all my long haul flight essentials, and is lightweight enough to be carried around the airport after checking my suitcase.
- I found the bag to be reasonably comfortable for carrying around. I walked a couple miles at a time with it in Japan and had no issues. While other reviewers mentioned that it tends to slide off their shoulders, I didn’t have this problem unless I was also wearing a backpack, but in that case the bag is also comfortable hand or elbow carried. (By comparison, I have also traveled with an Away Everywhere tote and it is just too heavy to be comfortable especially when fully packed.)
- When not at the airport, the bag is a perfect size for daily use. It looks nice and professional as well, so it transitions easily to workwear / dressier outfits.
- I think the construction quality is good and comparable to other Pacsafe products.
Cons:
- Although the bag is reasonably comfortable for a tote, for a full day of sightseeing with a lot of walking, I prefer a combo of the Pacsafe 10L backpack + 1L sling…
