Really enjoying using this rucksack, it takes a little getting use to, using the locks but its not an issue. The quality of the bag is really good, i was apprehensive spending that amount of money on a small rucksack. But if im going to use it for a long time then its worth spending that money rather than a cheaper one that doesnt have the same quality to it. Also i really like RFID pocket and the built in lock and i think it gives you an extra peace of mind when your travelling. I know its not fall proof but at least its a gives a little more of deterrent. I also really like the sandy dark orange colour and the minimal branding. Keeps it low key.
It’s very valuable and I’m looking forward to use it on my next trip
I found myself looking for a new daypack at short notice due to an unexpected trip abroad. I needed something that would fit underseat in a plane and also be suitable for taking around with me on day trips - something that was on the small side, lightweight, and secure. It didn't take me long to settle on pacsafe as the brand, but I then spent hours agonising over which pack to choose! :D
One thing I noticed with the Eco 18L was the lack of comprehensive images of the pack, or video reviews. The larger version had much more information available, and I may have gone a different direction if I could have seen more of the 18L in use. But I plumped for it in the end, and maybe wish I hadn't done so now.
Anyway, my initial impressions were great. I loved the colour and the premium feel of the pack. It does look high quality, from the stitching to the quality of the zips, and the pacsafe logos. During use I really liked the following features:
- the Roobar for the main compartment is amazing, I got addicted to fitting the zips onto it! Could use my lock to secure it further.
- the little hole for the hydro tube was ideal for feeding a cable through from my power bank to charge my phone.
- I didn't think I'd use the sternum strap, but it did make a difference to the comfort and weight distribution. The adjustment feature is nice.
- the fabric strap to help secure the front pocket zippers gave me a nice sense of security that the pocket could be routinely opened from…
This backpack was a savior, it was super light, great straps lots of internal pockets and fitted my Canon 6D camera in it for daily excursions felt safe with the locking mechanism and people recognized the brand so stayed away and moved on especially when in crowded areas such as trains etc. Pickpockets were overheard mentioning brand and didn't bother us.
