I'm happy that Pacsafe made a 12L backpack this time instead of a sling (slings larger than 8L messes up my shoulder and back). After using this for a trip, I noticed some downsides though.
The front pocket not going all the way down was a wasted potential feature. It would have been great to put more stuff in there. The inner pockets were useful for small things though. When full, the bottom back looks collapsed because of this. Makes the bag look kind of ugly. Nothing like the marketing photos.
Attachment points near the side pockets like on my ECO 18L would have been useful to secure my water bottle's handle to when in the pocket. My bottle slipped out of the side pocket and I needed to buy a new one during my trip.
The straps keep getting loose and needed daily adjustment which has been fairly typical of all my Pacsafe backpacks. I wonder if they'll ever fix this ongoing issue.

Regarding the side water bottle pocket, it is designed to accommodate bottles with a maximum diameter of approximately 2.88 inches (7.32 cm). Bottles larger than this may not sit securely in the pocket and could be more likely to slip out during use. We're sorry to hear you lost your bottle during your trip. We also appreciate your suggestion about adding attachment points near the pocket to help secure bottles, and we'll share this with our product team.

They should have made the secondary pocket deeper while keeping the additional inner pockets at the top. Wasted opportunity. I'm guessing this is also why the front bottom becomes concave when the backpack is packed out. You can look up YouTube reviews to see this. Aesthetically, it makes the bag look ugly.
Like all my Pacsafe backpacks over the years, I have to keep tightening the shoulder and sternum straps because they keep getting loose. I hope Pacsafe resolves this since they're the only brand of bags I've had that has this issue across multiple product lines.
I second the opinion of having separate locking mechanisms for the 2 main compartments. Maybe use something else besides the roobar system where each compartment can be separately locked.

Bought this for upcoming European River cruise. Size is perfect. Will hold everything needed for transatlantic flight and casual sightseeing in Europe.
I got this from a local store. A 12L backpack is a good size for me where I need more capacity than a small sling. A larger sling would damage my shoulder and spine when packed out so I need the 2 straps at this size.
Some issues:
I wish the second compartment was deeper where there are pockets at the top to keep quick access items in. It's too shallow.
The 2 compartments should be able to be locked independently from each other instead of a shared roobar.
I'd like some attachment points on the sides to attach my bottle handle and umbrella strap to via carabiners while they're in the side pockets. Moving the bag in/out of compartments during travel can cause them to slip out. I almost lost my bottle when it slipped out as I grabbed my bag if someone didn't let me know it fell out.
